It is my honor to share that UC Riverside, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense’s Diversity Management Operations Center, has nominated UNIDOS as the recipient for the 2022 National Hispanic Heritage Month Award. As you know, each year between September 15 and October 15, National Hispanic Heritage Month offers the opportunity to celebrate the culture and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx people in the U.S. This year’s theme – “Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation” – is meant to showcase the diversity of this population. We believe your work supporting The Cheech, successful fundraising efforts, and serving as a catalyst for raising the profile of Latinx communities from the Inland Empire make you a fantastic candidate to receive this award. On October 7, 2022, UC Riverside and the DOD are hosting Taking the Pentagon to the People. We would like to invite you to accept this award during the opening ceremony on the 7th.
